The campaign “Namaste Trump” carved yet another “Feather-in-the cap” in India-US relationship. On 24th February 2020, US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have together marched yet another step towards trust-worthy relationship between the two countries.
If we connect this event with recent event “Howdy, Modi!”, when Prime Minister Modi visited US on 22-Sep-2019, we can draw interesting learnings.
1. Relationship is the Key: Whether at political, business or person level, we need to focus on establishing the trustworthy relationship towards nobler goals. The goals should achieve “win-win” benefits for both parties through prospering and propelling real “values” and “ethics”. Relationships should be established among mutually value adding partners for better tomorrow.
2. Political enablers: Time has come where we need to work for global peace and happiness. Gone are the days, where one country can set the other country at their terms through their defense mighty or force. War through defense force costs more, and in-fact much more, than what we can imagine to both the parties given the context that countries are equipped with nuclear power. Thus, defense power started losing its edge over ability to resolve conflicts through “effective dialogue”. To resolve conflicts through “effective dialogue”, we need relationship with influential countries who can mediate and resolve the challenges ahead. US president said on 24-feb-20 to 120,000 Indian crowd in Motera stadium (the world’s biggest cricket ground) “The first lady and I have travelled 8,000 miles to deliver a message…America loves India. America respects India”. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had glowing words for the entire Trump family. Trump had worked hard to realize the American dream, he said, and acknowledged Melania’s “work for society”. Modi said he was happy to meet Ivanka and lauded Kushner’s “ability to stay away from limelight yet work effectively”. US president referred to few Indian celebrity names and famous Indian film names in his speech. This only proves that both the country heads appreciate each other culture, people and thier achievements. This will certainly sets friendly political climate and this political enablement will further accelerate the business enablers and trade among these two countries.
3. Business enablers: When political enablers are seeded and engrained at the right places, business will take its own growth. Believe me, business wants the hurdles to be removed. Business wants clarity in the context. Business wants security to the core. When political enablers can assure this, business will prosper, and business leaders will come back with astonishing ideas to innovate business models. Only thing is that, political governance should frame right business framework such that business works for “win-win” benefits based on real “values” and “ethics”. This is key for prospering country's economic index.
4. People enablers: When political and business enablers are synchronized and work in harmony, people will start reaping better benefits. It leads to better economy, harmony and peace around. It thus leads to better ideation, innovation and people enablement. If you observe people in European union, they flux among the set countries and flex their businesses for better benefits. It leads to better people enablement. You can see such flux among US and Canada countries as well.
When political, business and people enablers cooperate and collaborate with each other, we only witness best possible trade, economy, peace and prosperity among people. For this day, Mr Turmp and Mr Modi are working to lay the foundation. Positive and trust-worthy relationship is much more than monetary exchange of deals between the two countries. When both countries enter into the zone of trust-worthy relationship, they can solve many challenges in thier orbit with just word of their mouth. This is where, Mr Turmp and Mr Modi are working towards… For better tomorrow….through showing genuine interest towards their partners … through exchanging true value to each other… For this, these visits among political heads the head way...
